Frequently Asked Questions
How does Email Kitchen work?
It's simple:
- Send any recipe to chef@email-kitchen.com
- Our bot reads it, extracts just the recipe parts, and formats it nicely
- You get back a clean, readable recipe with ingredients, steps, and timing
- All your recipes are saved to your personal cookbook
What can I send?
- 🔗 A URL — Paste a link to any recipe website
- 📝 Text — Copy-paste a recipe from anywhere
- 📸 A photo — Snap a picture of a recipe card or cookbook page
What if the website blocks your bot?
Some sites (like AllRecipes) have anti-bot protection. If we can't fetch the page directly, we try a few workarounds. If those fail, we'll let you know and you can:
- Copy-paste the recipe text directly into the email
- Take a screenshot and attach it
- Use the Add Recipe form on this website
Why don't my recipes have photos?
When you send a URL, we try to download the recipe's hero image. If the site blocks us or the image is missing, your recipe will appear without one. You can still use the recipe perfectly — it's just text-only.
Is my cookbook private?
Yes. Your recipes are only visible to you when logged in with your email address.
How do I organize my recipes?
Recipes are automatically categorized by type (breakfast, dinner, dessert, etc.). You can browse them in your My Cookbook page with a visual grid view.
Is there a cost?
Email Kitchen is free for your first 5 recipes. After that, a small subscription fee applies to keep the service running.
